The band’s first album, it includes the song “More Than a Feeling” and sells 17 million copies, to date the second most in rock history. Guitarist and songwriter Tom Scholz, played plays and records of the music in the basement of his house in Watertown. Vocalist Brad Delp did not know their was no real band until after the album was recorded. Subsequent band members include guitarist Barry Goudreau, drummer Sib Hashian (replaced by Jim Masdea), and bassist Fran Sheehan. The original group disbands in the mid-1980s, but Scholz and Delp carry on with other musicians. Delp commits suicide in his home in New Hampshire on March 9, 2007.
